Definition: The paragraph may be defined as a group of sentences that are closely related in thought and which serve one common purpose.

As in the case of words in sentences, the most important places in a paragraph are the sentences at the beginning and the end of a paragraph.

 The object of the first sentence is to state a point clearly;
the last sentence should enforce it.
